In 2004, Amboseli Community Campsite re-opened its doors as a much improved facility with better facilities, management and conservation goals. The campsite although modest, allows guests to have that one with nature experience throughout their stay in Amboseli National Park.
Location
The campsite is within the confines of the Ol gulului lollarashi group ranch which is positioned on the western edge of the famous Amboseli National Park about a 4 hour drive from Kenya's Capital Nairobi. Amboseli gets its name from the Maa word Embusel which means white dust. Amboseli is a vast expanse of flat dry plains that bring to life the classic vision of a Safari on the African lands. With areas of lush green swamps in amongst the aridness, the contrast is beautiful. The ever majestic snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro rising in the horizon is a contrast backdrop to families of grazing elephants, black rhino's and a myriad of other creatures from birds to big cats.GPS Coordinate: S02.41.286 E37.13.239 (close to Serena Lodge)
